I’ve seen some numbers from Google Trends for Web 2.0 searches, sorted by regions and Hong Kong is at number 5 on the list, that means that the people in Hong Kong are doing some homework on Web 2.0. This is nice to see but I haven’t seen much development, if any (or I am looking at all the wrong places). I know there are developments here, an AJAX book I wanted has gone off the shelf at one of the bookstores, so development is in the works for some but otherwise I haven’t seen much else other that couple other blogs talking about Web 2.0. Unlike in China, where VCs are pouring their cash (in USD) into the many startups there.
Afterall, Hong Kong is no hotbed for the web and everything they do here is by trend and usually takes a long time for the locals to adopt. I haven’t noticed much following here unlike the neighbors up north in China. Unlike China, they haven’t really moved forward and developed any of Web 2.0 sites or at least some clones.
Some clones:
Yougedi would be great if they mash it up with edushi’s map API to add the map feature, although it’s a bit cartoonish (nothing wrong with that) but its maps are darn accurate.

hi,
yougedi not clone. We don’t know Trulia.
Thanks . Trulia is great.
I will look at yougedi again, I might have jumped to the conclusion based on the similarities. Thanks for the information!
