Web 2.0 Conference 2006

I really want to go to this years Web 2.0 Conference in SF, unfortunately it’s only by invite only, although I could apply and try my luck, I will pass because I have personal matters to attend to during that time (I know, excuses). So that is why I am hoping someone will put a podcast or video cast of some sort (in full or only of the Web 2.0 in China topic) up soon after that.

Much like Channy at Koreacrunch, I, too am interested in hearing what Joi Ito, Hyun-Oh Yoo and Jack Ma has to say. I am most interested in hearing what they have to say with the Web 2.0 in China topic since there has been tons of investment going into those startups building clones as well as what Hyun-Oh Yoo have to say about his Cyworld (hopefully it’ll be about the operation in the US) because the coverage it has received this past couple months (in the US) from Techcrunch to CNN and everyone in between is abundant, although most of it is the question of if they can topple MySpace.

Hope Jack Ma has something good in stored for us.

Talk about me being silly... I am just used to free stuff, like conferences that companies already paid for. Anyway, I read somewhere it's sold out. $30,000HKD is quite hefty, I was hoping it's somewhat free though, being web2.0 and all.

The web20con in SF? $30,000HKD? Really? It's my understanding that it's a by-invitation only conference.

The price for the web 2.0 conference is around HK$ 30,000. per person... Do you think it is worth?
