OpenWeb AsiaToday, we are announcing Asia’s first workgroup for the web industry in Asia, OpenWeb.Asia. OpenWeb.Asia Workgroup is a network of premium blogs focused on the Asia web industry has launched with fifteen web, technology blogs in Asia and welcome other tech bloggers in Asia to join, much like the Web 2.0 Workgroup in the US. The OpenWeb Asia domain is an initiative by Gang Lu of Mobinode and Chang Kim of Web20Asia.

Part of the goal of this workgroup will be actively participating in various global industry events and establish partnership with other leading industry leaders from around the world. With the aid of this workgroup, we hope that the latest industry information, concept and technology can be better translated and adapted into the Asian market and culture, while also broadcasting local startups and activities to markets in and outside of Asia.

One of our first initiative will be organizing a Asia Web conference. This initiative will be lead by Chang Kim of Web20Asia and supported by various members of this OpenWeb Asia workgroup. Stick around for that!
