DuedeeThose who are Bullpoo users will have already noticed a change in their name. Bullpoo has become Duedee, but everything else remains the same. I asked Kevin Chang, co-founder of Duedee about the name change and what you can expect from them.

Why the name change?
BullPoo was an awesome name, all the Internet savy (especially the silicon valley folks) loved it - it really stuck in our users’ minds. Unfortunately, working with executives from more traditional financial disciplines required us to change the name to relate to more financial services, while still keeping a bit of the Internet saviness.

How did you come up with this current name?
Duedee stands for “Due Diligence”. Coming from the finance field, its a short-form for saying conducting the proper background research before proceeding with any transactions. Back where I use to work, we’d say “hey have you done the due-d yet”, so we thought the name “Duedee” represented what all individual investors must do before investing - and what better a way then conducting investment due diligence with like minded investors in a social network.

What should user expect from Duedee?
Users can continue to expect continued improvements to the services. Of course, we’re also working hard on the Hong Kong Chinese site, which can hopefully link some Chinese and US investors together.

What is new on Duedee besides the name change?
We’ve coincided the rebranding of the Duedee.com with our Facebook application called “StockJuice”. Its a collaboration with Greedy Genius, a leading hip-hop fashion brand that’s next to the “Bathing Ape”. We offer a simplified version of Duedee on Facebook where our users can play stocks for fun, together with the “Price is Right” game for stocks. Players with the highest percentage gain in their portfolios wins prizes like the new Apple iPhone 3G, Apple iTunes Gift Cards, and a whole bunch of limited edition Greedy Genius sneakers and apparel.

They have also been approved by HK Government’s Cyberport Incubation and Programme. Under the program, there’s no money involved, instead, the Government will support up to 75% of their expenses.
