The turnout for the Startup Hong Kong event went really well. I saw a lot of old and new faces and met a few of my readers and those who I’ve connected online before. This is assurance that the startup community is growing. I didn’t have the opportunity to meet with everyone, so for those, ping me or leave a comment.

I added something new this time, instead of just socializing and networking, I introduced a demo session. Basically, I wanted a local startup to demo their service. There wasn’t much interest when I first posted the event but eventually, Harbork came through and give the crowd a run down of their service.

I have to thank the sponsors for making this happen:

Stepcase, for letting us invade their space and flip it upside down.
Harbork, for sponsoring food and demo-ing their site
Zendesk, for sponsoring food.

Some feedback I’ve gotten so far has been positive and the demo session was a good addition. Space was a concern and I understand that but I think this will be the case with all the startups here. I’ll make sure this will be better organized next time, but a great trial and error effort. I hope to run these events similar Lunch 2.0.
