I wouldn’t call this up to date, but never too late to post our latest Startup Hong Kong event at Frenzoo. The overall event went well and although not as many people attended as before, those who should up learned about Frenzoo and the Hong Kong Startup Association.

Frenzoo gave us a peek at their new release, they have since moved on from a client installed software to a web service (although, there’s still a small install). The new web version is so much better than the client install, even co-founder Simon told me that their old version was junk and I think anyone who have been with Frenzoo would agree.

Frenzoo also raised additional funding on top of their previous round from ASI, this time with SERAP, the local government fund to help local startup businesses.

In addition, the Hong Kong Startup Association also discussed their plans to begin its first talk. As this is a new organization, they are continuously seeking input from the local web entrepreneur, startups and community. If you have any thoughts, feel free to share them at their site. Sign up for the email updates or Facebook updates.

Big thanks for Simon and Frenzoo team for hosting and drinks and HKSUA for sponsoring the food.

  • Hi Angus,

Just would like to thank for your site. i just came across it yesterday and have then spent half a day to read the whole site.

i started a mobile game business in hk but was staying in beijing more than hk. and sometimes found it a pity that there're so few web 2.0/mobile startups when compared to China. But i'm glad to learn from 852signal that there are not so few of them. i wish there will be more and more to come.

Kindly do let me know when there is startup gathering in hk next time, i'm really interested in attending and know the web/mobile 2.0 friends in hk.
