852signal, established in June 2007, is the leading technology blog focused on delivering information on the next generation web (Web 2.0) services coming from Hong Kong as well as other parts of Asia. We will focus on delivering information related to local web startups, social media, interviews, local and regional events, funding and general web news.
We also strive to provide educational information to individuals interested in pursuing web startups and promoting awareness to the general public in Hong Kong, in turn making Hong Kong’s web a better place. In 2007, I instigated and organized the first Barcamp in Hong Kong and have been organizing startup events for local web entrepreneurs since 2006.
About Angus Lau
I am one of the early bloggers to cover Web 2.0 activities in Hong Kong and the first in English. In April 2006, I converted my personal blog to cover strictly Web 2.0 in Hong Kong. It has become a leading source of information for Web 2.0 activities in Hong Kong.
In addition, I have also written articles for China Web Review and Read/WriteWeb. With my growing interest in social media and web entrepreneurship together with interests from Hong Kong public and steady growth in readership, I founded 852signal and am currently the editor.
